I suppose now would be a good time for a long and charming story, relating my fond memories of watching the Son of Svengoolie on channel 32 back in the 80s. I’m not going to, mostly because I think people can still watch it on channel 26, and it’s more or less the same show. Last time I watched it was about two years ago I think. I didn’t give up on it because I grew out of it… you should know me better than that. I stopped watching because I still flatly refuse to have cable tv, and those rabbit ears I was using pissed me off so much I threw them out a window. Sadly, Sven has one of those shows that will never be on dvd, partly because of rights issues, but mostly because few outside the Chicagoland area have ever heard of him. You never know though, maybe the subtle genius of Rich Koz (the man behind the makeup) will be recognized by the greater populace, and his shows will be lovingly transferred from all the vcr recordings of his shows that I’m sure are lying about in suburban basements… waiting to be discovered, and cherished. I say all this without a trace of irony. Sh*t, I’m gettin’ all misty here.

Update: I just wiki’d the Sventster. Apparently, there’s some talk of syndicating his show in a few test markets. Keep your fingers crossed folks; our childhood friend from beautiful downtown Berwyn may soon be a national celebrity.. although this “news” came out in June of ‘07, so who knows?

Something I was messing around with today. I may do something with it when I get some time (or overwhelming inclination).

…okay, I lied.. I did have a new piece… one I did for a very good friend of mine.

I’m going to start updating this guy a bit more, but I’m just going to write stuff for myself, and the 7 or 8 people that read this blather. Since I’m not as worried about getting hired for art, or selling any honestly, I think I’m going to write whatever ranty, random, dumbass thing I feel like at any given time. Do I expect anyone to care? Nope… and therein lies the fun of it all.

New art (when there is some) will be placed on the main page… for those that are into that kinda thing. To those that are waiting for their prints… I’m getting to it, I swear by all that is holy. (having some technical glitches with my printing process).

Can’t be considered a pin-up artist without a Bettie Page in your portfolio. I think that’s what I am now.. a pin-up artist.. in a fledgling sense that is.

Looks like I’ve found my style folks… now I just need people to buy some stuff.. I’m tired of eating ramen every damn day. Actually, I still kinda like ramen… but that’s not the point.
